Susan Crawford of Plankton Art Co. is the ring leader of a nefarious international shadow organization known as D.R.A.K.E.
The D.R.A.K.E. cartel has been silently taking over what is known as the "gazebo trade", that is to say, the network of park lakes across the continental US that serve as illegal waterfowl trafficking sites from Canada and Mexico. Blackmail, extortion and kidnapping are common tactics used by D.R.A.K.E., but most chilling is it's role of supplier of slave labor to the Chinese restaurant industry. Hardest hit among the waterfowl communities tend to be the Canadian goose and domestic duck enclaves, who often seem to meet with "unfortunate accidents" involving cars near parks and lakes.
D.R.A.K.E. has met with recent resistance from waterfowl community vigilante groups that are attempting to take back their lakes and ponds. Rumor has it that certain communities (Mallards in particular) are now approaching rival organized crime syndicates (la cosa nostra, yakuza, duck hunters, etc.) in an effort to help them combat D.R.A.K.E. Strange bedfellows, indeed, but the hope is that these organizations might rid thier communities of this blight. What this means for the future of D.R.A.K.E. is uncertain at this time, but a turf war almost seems inevitable at this point.
